Frequently Asked Question

All courts were being used when I arrived to play. What should happen?

Occasionally, all three courts will be in use, and there may be some waiting time before you get on the court. In that situation we use a priority system:

  1. Any Juniors using the courts should finish their set (max 20 minutes) and vacate the court to allow any waiting adults to play (outwith ‘Junior Priority’ periods)
  2. Adult members should appreciate that there are others waiting to use the courts. Adults should finish their Set and vacate the courts as soon as possible:
    1. The adult group that has been using the courts the longest should vacate first.
    2. It is accepted that the set that is being played needs to be completed, but a new set should not be started if there are members waiting.
    3. If no actual set is being played, then use your judgement as to whether you should finish. Usually a max of 20 minutes if there are members waiting.
    4. Adults should also follow this procedure of vacating courts for waiting Juniors during the 'Junior Priority' and 'Open’ sessions.
  3. Any club members not following the above etiquette should be reported to the committee.
