January 2017 Junior Newsletter

Dear Juniors (and parents),

Here is our first Junior Newsletter.

  1. Increasing Capacity of Junior Classes

Pawel would like to offer the junior members more coaching sessions this year in order to improve the level of tennis and increase playing opportunities for everyone, such as other clubs in the area do. This would build confidence in the players, and hopefully they would want to enter competitions, such as the mini tennis events, and potentially identify players that could be considered for coaching within the district.
However none of this can be run without the support of parents. There is obviously a time and money side to this. The proposed sessions may clash with prior activities and it would mean paying for another 'block' of lessons within the term. Pawel wants an idea of how many would be interested. His proposal at the moment for Block 1, 2017 (starting 20th February) is:

    1. Those in the current yellow/green lesson on a Thursday (4.30-5.30 class), would be offered an additional class on the Wednesday.

    2. The current red ball classes on Tues/Thursday would be offered an additional class on a Friday.

    3. Also note that the Tuesday Girls class (5.30-6.15) would be moved to Wednesdays

Obviously the finer details have to be worked out and agreed , but for the moment if you could indicate if your child would take advantage of these extra opportunities, that would be great. Please reply to Audrey (click) or use juniors@banchorytennis.net

  2. Registration now open for Aegon Team Tennis.

If you have any Juniors interested in being part Club-based singles teams to take part in this event, please take a look at this link ( Aegon Junior Tennis ) and let myself (Audrey) know by 20th January.
Note that the Club must register teams by 31st January.

Kind Regards
