BLTC Newsletter September 20

Dear Visitor,

Social Doubles Play

We are still feeling our way in terms of how to organise Social Doubles sessions as we are obliged to keep a register of attendees for Trace & Protect. The easiest way to do this is to continue to have attendees booking their places in advance via the ClubSpark coaching page. We no longer need to limit players to just one court, so attendees are free to make up their own playing groups and to swap courts as they wish.

Sunday afternoon sessions will continue to run each week from 14:30-16:30 and we will reintroduce Monday evening Club Night on 21st September onwards from 18:30-20:30. We will reserve one court for Thursday evening Club Nights from 18:30 - 20:30.

As previously advised, places must be booked in advance at Coaching page and will be organised via the WhatsApp social tennis group. Please contact Henry Allen if you would like to be added to the social tennis group chat.

Cardio Tennis Fitness

A taster block of 3 Cardio Tennis sessions will start on Friday 18th September from 18:00-19:00. Cardio tennis is a fun fitness programme for adults designed to improve fitness for playing tennis, regardless of ability.

Why not come along and give it a go? Cost for taster block is £15, payable direct to Pawel. Places must be booked here on the ClubSpark Coaching page. If take up is good, we will run further blocks after half term. Classes will also be open to non-members.

September Box Leagues – Singles and Doubles

We have had a fantastic response to this month’s Box League competition with 26 entries for Singles and 23 couples entering the doubles competition. Note that matches should be completed by Sunday 27th September.

Junior Holiday Camps

Pawel is running Junior Holiday Camps during the October break from 19th to 23rd October. Details and booking on Holiday Camp page

Committee Membership

As our AGM will be held in November, it is likely that some committee roles will be coming up for re-election. Please have a think about becoming involved in running the club as a committee member – hopefully the coming year will be less traumatic (but even if not, we are in good shape!) – as it is always really helpful to have people with different views and experiences involved. In particular, we will need a new Membership Secretary to help us reorganise our system and potentially to move towards a more flexible fee structure. This is an opportunity to make a real difference to the way we run the club and to help streamline our membership process considerably.

Please get in touch if this would be of interest to you.

Best Regards
